These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Jcscan2connect mobile application, website, and QR scan alert service (the "Service"), operated by Jcscan2connect, a sole proprietorship registered at 2220 Fraser St, Aurora, CO 80014, United States. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Jcscan2connect provides QR code stickers that a finder can scan to reach the owner and the owner's registered contacts. Calls are routed through Twilio so contact phone numbers are not exposed to the scanner.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts in your jurisdiction to use the Service.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide, including your registered contacts.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- You must have a person's permission before entering their number as a contact. Entering a number does not enrol it: that person must reply YES to our confirmation text before they receive any alerts, and they can reply STOP at any time.
4. Fees and payment
Each QR activation is a one-time purchase processed by Stripe. Fees are shown in the app before checkout and are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion for a defective QR.
5. SMS & call alerts
When your QR is scanned, we send SMS to your registered contacts who have confirmed their number. Message frequency is scan-driven; typically 0–2 messages per month per contact. Message and data rates may apply. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for support.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass or intimidate anyone, or to contact people who have not agreed to be contacted.
- Enter anyone's number as a contact without their permission.
- Use the Service to send bulk, marketing, or promotional SMS.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent security controls in the Service.
- Attempt to unmask a contact's real phone number outside the intended call flow.
7. Service availability
The Service depends on third parties (Twilio for calls/SMS, Stripe for payments, Supabase for data storage, hosting providers). We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation and are not liable for third-party outages.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. It is a communication tool between a finder and an owner. It is not an emergency service: we do not send emergency or public-safety alerts, and we do not contact police, fire, ambulance, or any other agency. In a life-threatening situation, call 911 first.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jcscan2connect will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time from within the app or by emailing support@jcscan2connect.com.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
